Goals and Objectives

GOALS

  • Providing strategic leadership in the advocacy of innovative models to achieve sustained solidarity and improved socio-economic development in our communities.
  • Playing an important role in the management of programs and projects and helping communities engage and succeed in projects.
  • Developing and promoting social and economic approaches and systems, based on the local experiences and relevant current theories, which will enable communities to help themselves and sustain efforts in development projects.
  • Designing and implementing initiatives for rural communities to improve the wellbeing of their people.
  • Assessing and building capacities to effectively participate in identifying and responding to community issues and problems through community-based efforts.

OBJECTIVES

  • Fostering good social relationships and responsible citizenship among members of the community.
  • Engaging social groups, traditional leaders, and officials in participatory policy and strategy formulation in improving social and economic well-being.
  • Initiating, organizing and implementing targeted projects and programs to address problems affecting our communities.
  • Educating and training groups or individuals on proactive approaches within the framework of participatory, sustainable self-development.
  • Identifying and mapping projects to the communities based on assessment of needs, how the communities are responding, and their achievements.
  • Promoting community level engagement and access to basic social services for the poorest members of society.
  • Organizing outreach programs to educate the community on problems, their effects, possible mitigating measures and practical solutions.
