Beng Richard FUH is a medical doctor and an assistant professor of pediatrics at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, USA. He is also the director of the division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at the same institution.
Beng Fuh attended Government School Wum, Government High School Wum and CCAST Bambili in Cameroon before moving to Germany where he studied medicine at the Philipps University in Marburg. He then moved to the United States where he specialized in Pediatrics with subspecialty in childhood cancer, childhood blood disorders and bone marrow transplantation.
While in Germany, Beng was a founding member of the Cameroonian Forum for the Medical Paramedical sciences (CAMFOMEDICS) and served as a founding secretary and later president of the organization. In the United States, he was a founding member of the Aghem Family and Development Association (AFADA) and has served several years in its executive. Beng has also served on the executive of the Menchum Family Association in the USA (MENFA). He currently serves on the Riley’s Army Board, a charity the helps families of children with Cancer in Eastern North Carolina, USA, and on several university and hospital committees.
Beng is a strong believer in the power of community participatory development and philanthropy that builds community capacity. He sees FOCODEV as ideally suited to advance these goals.
